Challenge
John F Kennedy once said in a very motivational and influential speech to the American people,
“Ask not what your country can do for you; ask what you can do for your country.”
These words immediately struck the American society. These words simply stated that the American people should also be working towards betterment and more for themselves.
Well guess what fellow Christians;
"We are not to ask what our church can do for us; we are to ask what we can do for our church."
With that, we know a good place to begin is to tell about the word of Jesus Christ.
We know what Jesus has done for us.
We know Jesus came here and suffered and was tortured and was spit upon.
We know Jesus came here and died for our sins so that we may live to tell about HIM.
We as Christians should not be cooped-up in our homes and work places all the time with the exception of Sunday morning church services. When we do this, often times we only talk about Jesus with people we know closely.
But wait. Aren’t we told to go out and tell of the Lord Jesus Christ?
Aren’t we supposed to witness to other people who know nothing or little about Jesus Christ?
Is this not what we are supposed to do?
This task can be difficult to achieve while being cooped-up in your home as a hen is in her pen. We should be building up our church families. We as Christians are told to go out and tell our friends the news of Jesus christ. We are told to spread the word of Jesus and this is the challenge I have for you today,
“Spread the Word.”
Get out of your coop. Go somewhere out of you daily norm. Start a conversation with a friend you know who doesn’t attend church. Tell that friend about Jesus. Tell that person about your church. Share your personal testimony with that person. Just simply, be nice and loving and allow Jesus to work through you so that you may tell people about HIM. Keep in mind that even just 1 person or just 20 people or even 100 people can have a BIG voice. So all of you small church families out there, know this, the words you speak about Jesus are coming from your heart and those words may be the words that bring more and more people to Jesus Christ. Simply by showing Christ’s love through your daily activities can help to bring more people to your church family and ultimately to Christ’s family!
So, take up on that challenge and Spread the Word of Jesus Christ.
God Bless,
Bryan Coffey
If Jesus is everything to us, we should crave to go out and tell others about him. Listen to this amazing song.
